Spring 1901 - The Game Begins

Postby Matt » Tue Mar 01, 2016 10:50 am

Spring, 1901. Flanders fields, and many others across a Europe at peace. But beneath the surface, ambitions, rivalries, and ancient grudges crouch, awaiting the right moment to surge forth and plunge a continent into tumult. The following individuals rule the Great Powers:

Kaiser Peter C. - Germany
Tsar Jeremy F. - Russia
Sultan Tom G. - Turkey
King Joe M. - Italy
Kaiser Bill O. - Austria
King Joe O. - England
President Dave R. - France

(Five of you got your first choice, two third for an overall score of 1.6. Not bad at all.)

Let the diplomacy commence! Please remember to CC me on all diplomatic correspondence and to use [MC] in the subject header.

The deadline for moves shall be Sunday, March 6, 2016 at 9pm EST. It is a very good idea to send me preliminary moves as early in a turn as possible so that you have something on the books. You can always change them, as many times as you like, and I shall always use the last set of orders I receive. Further, if you wish to change your moves after the last minute, you may do so. I shall accept orders right up until the moment I adjudicate. Of course, anything after the deadline is a crap shoot on your part.

Remember, press is permitted, encouraged, and may be posted on the forum and/or by email. You may also submit press to me for anonymous reposting. The only identifier there will be to make it clear it's not me.

Good luck to all!

El Pais

Dateline MADRID (AP)

Fear grips the Iberian peninsula as anonymous sources from the German embassy in Madrid have said that Britain and France are preparing to divide Spain and Portugal amongst themselves. The British and French foreign missions had no comments for the Spanish press.

Reports of an increased French military presence on the border with Spain have been noted by the Spanish Army. There have also been reports from Lisbon of increased British Navy patrols off the coast of Portugal.

I've heard from enough already and it's clear quicker than a week will be a problem for some of you. We'll stick with the weekly schedule.

The deadline for Fall 1901 is Sunday, March 13 at 9pm. Winter 1901 will be due 24 hours later.

Please note that uncontrolled provinces only become controlled if a player's unit is physically present in the space at the end of the turn. Passing through is insufficient. Also, feel free to submit preliminary builds with your turn. I shall take such builds in the order received (e.g. You submit two builds but only get one. I'll count the first one listed.)
